Logistics Associate Apprenticeship with Spillane Group
Office’s location: Sleenoge, Ballineen and Enniskean, Co. Cork
We are looking for a Logistics associate apprentice to assist with managing supply chain activities. You will be coordinating the transport and storage of products and materials. Your duties and training will include receiving deliveries, preparing shipments, communicating with clients and carriers, tracking shipments, and managing inventory.
To be successful as a logistics associate, you should be able to maintain shipment records in digital databases and ensure that shipments are delivered according to schedule. Ultimately, a top-notch Logistics Associate should be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage the flow of incoming and outgoing goods with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
• Inspecting incoming and outgoing shipments and verifying rates.
• Receive incoming shipments and prepare outgoing shipments.
• Monitoring and managing inventory levels.
• Developing and communicating shipment schedules.
• Liaising with vendors and carrier services to coordinate logistics and timelines.
• Assisting customers and resolving shipment issues and complaints.
• Preparing and maintaining shipment paperwork, records, and digital databases.
• Performing additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
• Proficiency in MS Office and database management.
• Knowledge of inventory management and logistics elements.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
Applicant must meet one of the LAA programme entry criteria:
• H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
• Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc
• Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
