Merck / Sigma-Aldrich Ireland Ltd is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic candidate for the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship commencing in September in TU Dublin. This is a two-year programme involving one day per week of classroom training and four days working on-site at our premises in Arklow, Co. Wicklow. At the successful completion of the apprenticeship, the candidate will be eligible to apply for a permanent position with the company.

Role:
The successful applicant will be supporting the logistics manager with administration tasks e.g planning, purchasing , sending haz and non haz shipments domestic and International, and working closely with other departments.
Applicant must meet one of the LAA programme entry criteria:
- H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics
- Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics, and distribution, supply chain management, etc)
- Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). for a permanent position with the company
