It was a double celebration last week as the Logistics Associate Apprenticeship Awards & Mentor Graduation Ceremony took place at the Technological University Dublin City Campus on February 22nd.
The university presented academic excellence awards to apprentice graduates of 2022 in the presence of their mentors, company representatives, and family members in recognition of their outstanding accomplishments.
Among the recipients were:
‘Best Logistics Apprentice 2022 Award’:
🏆 Keith Donohoe from Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants
🏆 Klaudia Kornacka from DHL Express Ireland
‘Best Work-based Project 2022 Award’:
🏆 Colm Mc Allen from An Post
🏆 Fiona Vollmer from Blue Water Shipping
Additionally, LAA mentors who completed the Mentoring programme were presented with CPD certificates. The university’s mentorship programme is an essential component of the apprenticeship; it is conducted annually to support employing organisations and new mentors.
Mentors play a much greater role than just being role models and advisors; they facilitate apprentices’ growth and development and provide them with tools to achieve goals and succeed, and moreover help rising talent.
True CHAMPIONS who inspire others:
Adrian Byrne MBA, MSc., Avril Browne, Aleksandra Winkler-Parratt, Marie Mc Cabe, Thomas Hehir, Des Fortune, Sean McDermott, Keith Conroy, Alona Sasieta, Mantas Jankauskas, Frank Coyne, Terry Kelly, Amy Hemphill, Christopher Brzozowski, Kellie Mahon, Colin Morrissey
We would like to thank LAA employers in particular, An Post, DHL Express, Blue Water Shipping, and Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants, for providing the apprentices with hands-on training in their organisations and for supporting the programme.
Special recognition is also extended to Dr. Kevin Byrne, Head of School, Declan Allen, Head of Logistics, Supply Chain and Project Management, Yvonne Sheehan MSc BSc CMILT, the apprenticeship programme coordinator, the outstanding team of lecturers at TU Dublin who supported apprentices on their academic journey, as well as Aidan Flynn, Chairman of the LAA Consortium.
