Job Title: Trainee Transport and Logistics Administrator Apprentice

Start Date: September (aligned with apprenticeship start date)
Contract: Fixed term for duration of apprenticeship
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 6:00 pm (Tuesday College Day)
Pay: €28,500-€30,000
Apprenticeship: Logistics Associate Apprenticeship (MTU Cork Campus)
Key Responsibilities:
• Input and manage traffic management systems daily.
• Create manifests for drivers
• Check all discrepancies with customers and warehouse
• Assist with the day-to-day running of a busy transport office.
• Liaise with drivers and warehouse staff.
• Handle customer bookings.
• Perform ad hoc duties throughout the office.
Managing Customer Relationships
• Engage with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
• Manage high volumes of inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chats efficiently.
• Oversee customer activity for assigned accounts.
• Escalate inquiries or complaints to the relevant manager/department when needed.
Requirements
• Self-motivated and able to work in a busy team environment.
• IT proficiency with good working knowledge of MS Office.
• Adaptable to fast-changing transport plans.
• Strong planning skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Own transport (due to location).
LAA Apprenticeship Candidate Eligibility Criteria
Apprentices must be at least 18 years of age and meet one of the following LAA programme entry criteria:
• H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
• Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g., business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc.
• Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
