
BG Freight Line is a market leading Short Sea shipping company, offering containerised services for the Island of Ireland to and from several European and UK ports for Feeder and domestic business. We are part of the Peel Ports Group with ports and offices throughout the UK.
Based in Kinsealy on the North side of Dublin, we are looking for someone to join our dynamic Shipping Dept. to cover all aspects of our Import and Export duties.
Full on site training will be given and we would also look to give the successful applicant exposure on our Ships Agency and Transport department, to get an overall view of all company activities. There would also be visits to the container terminal and vessels to get a hands on feel for the job.
This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to get a thorough grounding in this Global industry through on the job training in a busy working environment four days a week whilst attending TU Dublin one day a week for classroom training.
Containerised shipping accounts for a huge portion of Global trade and this position offers a gateway into this vibrant sector.
Job Specification:
• Day to day Export and Import Operations
• Liaison and developing good relationships with our suppliers, customers and international partners
• Creation of Jobs using our in house software package
• Customs formalities for both Exports and Imports
• Use of Electronic Data Interfaces
Job Requirements:
• Natural customer service mindset.
• Team player who is a self-starter with the ability and confidence to work on their own initiative
• Proficiency in MS Outlook and MS Office
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm with day release to TU Dublin City Campus
Applicant must meet one of the LAA program entry criteria:
• H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
• Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management)
• Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
